Announcing PUPPETS IN PRAGUE WORKSHOPS for 2010!

For eleven years, Puppets in Prague has brought hundreds of students from around the world into the

magical world of Czech puppetry and marionettes. 

 

This year, we are offering courses in MARIONETTE CARVING, PUPPETS FOR STOP MOTION ANIMATION, and PERFORMANCE.

 

Master puppeteer Miroslav Trejtnar leads workshops with a team of Czech puppet artists.

2010 WORKSHOPS

Marionette Carving

In our classic workshop, you design and create a beautiful hand-carved wooden marionette - and take it home with you!!  Workshop especially for people who want to learn more about the rich tradition of Czech puppetry.

June 19- July 3

 

Manipulation and performance workshop

Students work with professional puppeteers to learn the intricacies of marionette manipulation.  They will also create a performance for TEATROTOC, an international Street Theatre Festival taking place in the historical center of Prague.  Ideally for students who can also take our Marionette Carving Workshop!

July 5 - 13

 

Puppets for Stop Motion Film Animation

Learn how to animate and design a puppet for stop-motion animation (including how the interior skeleton is constructed).  This workshop includes two days in the professional Hafan Film Studio.

ANIMATION I:  January 4 - 13

ANIMATION II: May 7 - 16 (includes a day at the ANIFEST film animation festival, one of the largest animation festivals in Europe, www.anifest.cz) 

ANIMATION III: August 13 - 22
